Carbon fiber is a very interesting material to work with. The remarkably high strength-to-weight ratio coupled with excellent vibration dampening properties have made it a favourite in just about every industry where there are racing applications. Our sport is certainly no exception.
Because we recognize the benefits of carbon fiber and also the necessity for precision fitting, we have been working with Dedacciai to offer an effective solution for custom full-carbon builds. The CCR-1 is indeed a prototype of what we believe is an essential option for our customers: a superior quality custom carbon fiber frame that is as individual and unique as those who ride it.
To that end, every CCR-1 is individually hand-wrapped, baked, and hand painted in Italy to precision custom specifications. We offer this option within the same competitive 60 day schedule as our welded steel and aluminum models.
If we were to name one culture most closely related to cycling it would have to be that of the local coffee shop. Cyclists everywhere will rise before the first rays of light to meet with their friends and teammates for a morning ride. In Italy as in so many other countries, they will join eachother at the local cafe.
For 2009 we have decided to celebrate this time honoured tradition with the release of two classic round-tube steel models, the Biscotti and the Espresso. As part of our new CLASSICS collection they pay homage to the rich history of our sport, our communion with the passion for cycling in its golden age.
The third model in our CLASSICS collection is a true gem. In just about every city in Italy one can find a Via Dante, a street named for a poet so famous that he can be referred to by his first name alone. These streets are a feature of the classical urban Italian landscape, and we hope to bring a piece of this heritage to riders in every city. The Viadante is the crown of the CLASSICS. Made from the lightest-weight steel, it is lugged and chromed in the timless Italian fashion.
